Hi, my name is Shelly, and I am the Director of Armada Design Center in Belleview, and I am so excited to share with you today all things spa for your bathroom!

Size and location matter when designing a spa-like bathroom. You'll want to think about privacy. Ideally, this should be in your primary bath connected to your bedroom where you can create that peaceful personal retreat. However, if space is tight or you can't fit a bathtub,

you can still create a wonderful spa experience with a beautifully designed shower area, natural stone elements, and calming features like waterfall faucets.

Lighting in your bathroom is key. It's crucial in setting the right ambiance for any spa-like atmosphere. In my own bathroom, I've used dimmable lights and under cabinet lighting, and toe kick lighting. This allows for a soft, peaceful glow, especially when you're taking a bath or a shower. It creates that serene experience.

Lighted mirrors also add a great touch, making it easier to see yourself clearly while still contributing to the spa vibe. Color and texture plays a big role. Soft, earthy tones, whites, khakis, gentle linens, and calming neutrals really help create a relaxing environment. You can

also bring in spa vibes with simple touches like candles, rugs, and towels. A fresh coat of paint on the walls can make a dramatic difference, too. It's all about creating harmony within these colors and textures, making the space feel calm and inviting.

Let’s talk about creative solutions for small spaces. You don't have to have traditional cabinetry for towel storage. Think creatively. In my bathroom, I used a skinny ladder shelf to roll up towels and put washcloths on, which is a functional and charming solution that adds to every spa atmosphere. Even small spaces can look luxurious with thoughtful design.

How about renovation or decorative elements?  While a major renovation certainly can help, you can create a spa-like atmosphere and environment with just decorative elements. It's all about the right tile, flooring, and addition of materials that contribute to the serene look and feel. Adding in elements like natural stone, clean lines, tranquil colors, they can do wonders for your bathroom without requiring a full remodel.

Creating a spa-like bathroom retreat is within your reach! And, with the right design choices, you can turn any space into a calming oasis. Whether you're working with a large or small bathroom, it's all about understanding what elements will make your space feel luxurious. From lighting to color to clever storage solutions, there are so many ways to elevate your bathroom and make it a peaceful getaway.
